The Yellow Umbo F7 Liquid Culture Syringe (Ps. ochraceocentrata x Ps. cubensis ‘Jack Frost’) is the first documented hybrid between Psilocybe cubensis and another Psilocybe species. This breakthrough was achieved by Yoshi, who mated monokaryons of Ps. cubensis and Ps. ochraceocentrata using serial stripe techniques and advanced microscopy methods developed with the help of Kilor Diamond. Each stage of the process was verified by microscopy and cross-species validation tests conducted by Imperial Labs. This project marks an important milestone in domestic mycology.
Psilocybe Cubensis Yellow Umbo stands out for its vibrant yellow hats and robust mycelium growth. Known for its rapid colonization and reliable fruiting, this strain is a top choice for growers looking for a visually striking and highly productive mushroom. Its unique appearance and resilience have made Yellow Umbo a sought-after variety in the breeding community.
In addition, our 10ml PE7 liquid culture syringe is also manufactured under sterile conditions to ensure maximum purity and minimize contamination. PE7 is an excellent option for growers looking for a robust, potent strain with impressive yields and unique characteristics that offers consistent success in cultivation.
Key features
- Strain: Psilocybe Cubensis Yellow Umbo – a rare and visually appealing strain with unique yellow caps.
- Volume: 10 ml sterile syringe containing nutrient-rich liquid culture.
- Purity: Professionally isolated and prepared under sterile conditions to ensure consistent, reliable growth.
What do you need to grow mushrooms
- Grain (nutrition): Mushrooms need a source of nutrients to grow. Grains such as rye or corn are often used because they are rich in carbohydrates and other nutrients essential for the growth of the mycelium (the root structure of the mushroom).
- Substrate (soil): The substrate provides physical support for the mycelium and aids in water retention. This may include wood, straw, sawdust or another organic material in which the mycelium can grow. The substrate should be sterile or well-treated to avoid unwanted bacteria and fungi.
- Culture (the mycelium or spores): This is the biological basis of the mushroom. The mycelium is the vegetative form of the mushroom and grows through the substrate to form the mushroom. It can be purchased as “liquid culture” or home-grown from spores. (We recommend liquid culture)
- With these three components, you can grow mushrooms, depending on the kind you want to grow.
Humidity and hygiene
The process requires careful control of factors such as temperature, humidity and hygiene to obtain a successful harvest.
Humidity: You maintain humidity by growing mushrooms in a bag or monotub. This keeps the substrate moist, which is important for the mushrooms to grow.
Hygiene: To prevent contamination, we work with an injection port on the bags. This makes it easy to inject the mycelium (the “seeds” of the mushroom) into the bag without the need for a special clean room. Customers should only use a clean needle to ensure that everything remains hygienic.
