Anadenanthera peregrina, better known as Yopo, has a rich history of use within indigenous South American cultures, serving both spiritual and medicinal purposes. The seeds of the Yopo tree contain psychedelic substances such as N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT), 5-MeO-DMT, and bufotenine. This combination of powerful psychoactive substances can induce intense hallucinogenic experiences, often described as opening the “third eye” or facilitating access to non-physical, spiritual dimensions.
