The Psilocybe mexicana“Jalisco” is a fascinating strain within the world of psychedelic mushrooms, especially for its ability to produce sclerotia, or magic truffles. This variety has been used for centuries by indigenous groups in North and Central America for spiritual and ceremonial purposes and remains popular among modern researchers and growers.
What makes the “Jalisco” strain unique is the need for specialized substrates to grow optimally and produce sclerotia. These underground, truffle-like structures are rich in psilocybin, making them not only an interesting object of study, but also a sought-after choice for those who wish to explore the therapeutic and spiritual potential of entheogenic fungi. Growing the “Jalisco” offers a unique challenge and experience for enthusiasts in the world of psychedelics.
Genetic purity:
Professionally isolated and prepared under sterile conditions to minimize contamination risks.
What substrate do we grow on?
Work perfectly on grain substrates.
Use
Inoculating your substrate has never been easier. With a simple injection of Psilocybe mexicana “Jalisco” Liquid Culture, you can watch the mycelial network multiply and transform your growing medium into a canvas on which mushrooms can flourish.
- Sterilization: Sterilize the substrate mixture to kill any harmful bacteria and fungi that may inhibit mushroom growth. This can be done by heating the substrate mixture in an autoclave or by pasteurizing it using steam.
- Inoculation of substrate: Begin by preparing the substrate, such as vermiculite and brown rice flour, as described previously. Make sure the substrate is moist, but not soggy. Next, grab the spore syringe with the Psilocybe mexicana “Jalisco” spores.
- Inoculation Process: Shake the spore syringe with the mushroom spores well to ensure that the spores are evenly distributed. Next, use the syringe to distribute the spores evenly across the substrate. This can be done by applying small amounts of spores to different spots on the substrate.
- Incubation: After the substrate has been inoculated with the mushroom spores, it is time to incubate the substrate. Place the substrate in a dark and warm room with a constant temperature between 22-26°C. This promotes colonization of the substrate by the magic mushroom spores.
- Growth and harvest: After a few weeks, the mushroom spores should begin to colonize and develop into mushrooms. Continue to check the substrate for moisture and any signs of contamination. Once the mushrooms are fully developed, they can be harvested for consumption.
