Ingredients and/or composition
The set contains fully colonized substrate with the APE221 strain of Psilocybe cubensis, packaged in a sturdy and reusable grow box. You will also receive a special grow bag with filter and a clip to seal the bag properly.
Use
Place the grow kit in the included grow bag, seal it with the clip, and ensure sufficient ventilation. Extra actions such as spraying or daily opening are not necessary. Follow the included instructions carefully for optimal results. The first harvest will be ready within 2 to 3 weeks.
Get started step by step with your APE221 grow kit:
- Preparation: Make sure your workspace is clean. Always work hygienically to prevent contamination. Use tap or mineral water; avoid distilled or demineralized water.
- Setting up the grow bag: Remove the bag from the box, unroll it, and open it by removing the clip. Let some fresh air in by gently pulling the bag open, and close it again with the clip.
- Preventing side growth: To prevent mushrooms from growing on the sides of the substrate, you can put an elastic band around the bag, about 1.5 cm below the top of the substrate.
- Monitoring growth: Keep a close eye on the bag. You don’t need to add water the first two times. Once the caps start to open, it’s time to harvest. Not all species show veils or spores.
- Harvesting: Wash your hands or wear latex gloves. Gently twist the mushrooms clockwise to loosen them. Harvest on time, as soon as the caps open.
- After harvesting: After the second flush, add a little water (about 1/3 of the substrate level), close the bag again with the clip, and provide fresh air again. Pour away excess water if it has not been absorbed after 12 hours.
- Temperature control: Keep the temperature between 20 and 25 °C. Avoid fluctuations for best results.
- Extra harvests: You can usually harvest twice per kit, and sometimes even three or four times. After each harvest, add water again and close the bag as before.
