Step into the world of home growing with the Cascadian Teacher Mushroom Grow Kit from Mystic Fungi. The Cascadian Teacher is an unusual mushroom strain known for its robust growth and striking appearance. A variant within the Psilocybe family, this strain is prized for its thick stems, wide hats and consistent yields. What makes this strain unique is its combination of quick colonization and reliable harvest, which makes it loved by novice and experienced growers alike. The grow kit includes a high-quality grow box with mycelium from the Cascadian Teacher strain, a grow bag with an air filter and a bag clip for sealing the bag.
Cultivation of the Cascadian Teacher
This grow kit delivers up to 700 grams of fresh Cascadian Teacher mushrooms, making it a winner when it comes to yield. Whether you are just starting out or have grown before, this kit will help you get more out of your grow without having to deal with it on a daily basis. Thanks to the simple system, you don’t have to keep opening or spraying the grow bag. Adding fresh air in the beginning is enough – after that nature does its work. Within 2 to 3 weeks you can expect your first harvest.
The handy bag clip makes it completely easy: no extra tools needed, just clip and ready.
Potency Cascadian Teacher
Cascadian Teacher is known as a strain with medium to above-average potency. That means the effects are generally well balanced: not too overwhelming, but certainly powerful enough for a profound experience. Many users describe this strain as bright, introspective and visually rich – without being immediately overwhelming.
Instructions for setting up Grow Kit
Make sure your work area is clean to prevent other microorganisms from contaminating your grow kit. It is important to work hygienically. Always use clean tap or mineral water for misting and soaking your grow kit. Do not use distilled water or demi water as it is not suitable.
- Remove the bag from the box and roll it out.
- Open the bag by removing the airtight clip at the top. Supply the bag with some fresh air by gently stretching it, then close it again with the clip. To prevent mushrooms from growing on the sides of the substrate, you can put a rubber band around the outside of the bag at the level of the top of your substrate to reduce the chance of side pins. Place the elastic about about 1.5 cm below the top of the substrate.
- Monitoring growth: Keep a close eye on the bag when the mushrooms begin to grow. The first two times you don’t need to water. Once the hats begin to open, it is time to harvest. Note that not all varieties have veils or drop spores.
- Harvesting: Before harvesting, ensure a clean environment by disinfecting your hands with alcohol and preferably wearing latex gloves. To harvest, turn the mushrooms clockwise. Harvest as soon as the hats begin to open for optimum potency. The fruits are ready for harvest after two to four weeks, depending on growing conditions and mushroom variety.
- Post-harvest maintenance: After harvesting the second flush, add a small amount of water (about 1/3rd to the level of the substrate in the bag). Close the bag again with the clip and make sure it is airtight. Remember to add fresh air by removing and reattaching the clip. Pour off excess water if it has not been absorbed within 12 hours.
- Control of temperature: Ensure that the temperature remains stable within the range of 20-25 degrees Celsius (68-77°F) for best growth results. Avoid large fluctuations in temperature.
- Follow-up harvests: Expect to harvest at least twice from each bag, but it may also be possible to obtain three or even four harvests. After each harvest, reseal the bag and add water to encourage further flowering sessions.

How to store Mystic Fungi Grow Kits
It is wise to start the growing process immediately as soon as you receive the grow kit. If you choose to start later, which may affect the quality of the set, you can store the grow kit in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks (at temperatures between 2°C and 8°C). You can simply leave the culture bag with mycelium in the box and place it in the refrigerator. Make sure your refrigerator is clean and free of mold. As an extra precaution, you can place the set in a clean plastic bag or grow bag.
