Royal Rapé Cacao

Use

Rapé (pronounced ha-peh) is a traditional shamanic tobacco snuff from the Amazon. It contains finely ground tobacco and other herbs and is blown into the nose using a special pipe. If you want to use Rapé on yourself, you need a self-applicator pipe called a Kuripe. If you want to blow the Rapé into another person’s nostrils, you need a Tepi. Below is a step-by-step plan, requirements, and preparation:

Requirements

• Rapé powder (from a reliable source)
• Kuripe (self-applicator pipe or Tepi pipe)
• A quiet and comfortable place
• Handkerchief or tissue (for excess mucus)
• Intention or prayer (optional, but recommended for spiritual use)

Preparation

1. 1. Ensure you are both calm and focused.
The receiver can be cross-legged or sitting upright.
Ask the receiver to breathe through the mouth and open themselves to the experience.
Hold a respectful intention. In shamanic traditions, Rapé is used for purification, healing, and focus.
   2. Dosage
Scoop a small amount of Rapé (the size of half a pea per nostril) into the Tepi pipe.
Blow into your hand first to check for lumps and ensure the pipe is clear.
   3. Administration
Place the narrow end of the Tepi pipe into the receiver’s nostril.
The receiver keeps their head slightly forward and relaxes.
Take a deep breath and blow the Rapé forcefully but controlled into one nostril at a time.
Wait a few seconds and repeat for the other nostril.
   4. Aftercare
The receiver can keep their eyes closed and breathe deeply to let the effect sink in.
A strong reaction may occur, such as tears, sneezing, or mucus discharge – this is normal and a sign of purification.
Give the receiver time to ground and provide water or a tissue if necessary.
